University of Birmingham Music Society

The University of Birmingham Music Society (UoBMS) is a student-run organisation dedicated to providing an exciting and vibrant musical experience for its members. Established in the late 19th century, UoBMS is one of the oldest music societies in the country and has a rich history of providing students with the opportunity to get involved in a variety of musical activities.

What We Do

UoBMS is dedicated to providing a wide range of musical activities for its members. Our repertoire includes classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk, and world music, and we are always looking for new members to join us. We also run regular workshops, master classes, and events throughout the year, giving members the chance to learn new skills and meet like-minded people.

Membership

Membership to UoBMS is open to all University of Birmingham students and staff, as well as members of the local community. We offer a range of membership packages to suit different needs, from casual memberships to full-time memberships. All members receive discounts on events and workshops, as well as access to our online library of sheet music.

Events and Performances

UoBMS organises a wide range of events and performances throughout the year. These include regular concerts and recitals, as well as themed events such as our annual Battle of the Bands competition. We also hold workshops and master classes, which are open to all members and provide a great opportunity to learn new skills and meet other musicians.
