What Dancers Say About The Factory Fitness and Dance Centre

4.3/5 from 93 Google reviews.

In February 2018 I joined this gym with a 6 months membership and it just finished this Saturday. After all this time I can say that it’s by far the best gym I’ve been in and the only one that has gave me solid results.
There are a lot of classes with brilliant instructors. There is a social component that creates a family feeling, so newbies feel really welcome.
The best part is the Personal trainer once a month (included in the price) that helps you to achieve your goals and keep you on track. In my case, it was Poppy, thanks to who I’ve learned to change my body through resistance training.— María Heredero

Amazing gym, maybe the best I've ever been to. It's a slightly different concept — there is more of a focus on movement stuff like kettlebells and classes, than lots of weights and equipment (though there is some). Your membership includes one trainer session a month, which taught me (a 20-year gym rat) some great new approaches. Michael Brook was a kickass trainer for overall strength and fitness, really knows his stuff and makes it fun. I only did weekend yoga classes (which take place in a beautiful space, with really good instructor), but membership includes all classes too I think. Reaso— Jonathan Kassian

I have been trying to get into weights for years and have never found a gym which makes me feel comfortable enough. This gym is amazing. The staff are fantastic and have helped me achieve more than I could ever have hoped for, the classes (and the choice of class) are absolutely fantastic and make life so easy having the choice of everything under one roof. Alex is a fantastic Manager and always helps me out if I'm doing something wrong as do all the others. Altogether a vibrant, friendly, well presented and HUGE value for money gym. Pricing options are also amazing compared to others. This g— Chloë Bryant

I love this gym, I have to say. It is a smallish place so don't expect your Gymbox's of the world, but there's ample equipment to work out with and plenty of classes to choose from. Some of the memberships include a monthly PT session which is helping keep me on track, and it's right round the corner from my house. The only improvements are things such as the benches being a little old, but newsletters say these are being updated anyway. Poppy is my PT and she's wonderful. The rest of the staff are always very friendly, and the gym is never too busy. I plan to continue going here until I move — Katt Wade

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is it to learn salsa?

Salsa is easier to pick up than many expect, with a straightforward basic step that beginners grasp quickly. Musical timing takes a little longer, but it develops steadily with practice.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes, salsa is very much open to people with no dancing experience. Beginner sessions assume you are starting from scratch.

Is it possible to learn ballet as an adult?

It is, and adult beginners regularly take up ballet successfully. Look for a class specifically designed for those new to it.

What age is too late to start ballet?

There is no age that is too late for recreational ballet, which people enjoy well into later life. A beginner-friendly class is the right place to start.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

Typical steps include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, heel taps and a pivot turn. Beginner dances usually combine a few of these.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

Dances with short, looping sequences are the easiest to remember when you are starting out. Contact the centre to see whether any line-dance sessions are on the timetable.
