Definitely deserves a 5 star review! Studio K was recommended to me by friends who absolutely loved it, and I'm very pleased I chose to join them. I danced as a child and like many of my friends didn't have anywhere to go as an adult, but this is the perfect place. There are people of all abilities, and Sarah and the team really make the time to make sure you're keeping up and enjoying it. And even if you're not keeping up it's still a lot of fun! It's a great mixture of exercise and fun, as well as a really sociable environment. There are so many classes available and there are packages avail— Melissa Clarke
I have wanted to do dance classes for all of my adult life and always chickened out due to stage fright/anxiety, fear of being judged and under qualified at even “casual” classes. At the start of this year I pulled the trigger and did some taster sessions at Studio K and never looked back. All the instructors and members are so welcoming and friendly. A variety of levels of fitness and body types (which is refreshing, especially in ballet!) and everyone from people who have never danced to seasoned dancers. It has been a wonderful social experience and chance to be able to indulge in a range o— Ellie Passingham
Cannot rate Studio K highly enough. The teachers Chloe and Sarah are so friendly and always bring good vibes. The classes are super fun, a great work out, simple booking via Mindbody and it's very reasonable at around £10 a class. Love it so much and can’t believe I hadn’t been before I did. Really friendly atmosphere no matter what level you’re at and all body types welcome!. They even introduce new people to the class by name and make the effort to remember people’s names. Can recommend hip hop, clubbercise and Zumba. Thank you ladies!!— Miri Stevens
I attend adult classes at this dance studio & I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. There are so many styles of classes to suit all tastes – for adults & kids. There is a wonderfully inclusive & friendly atmosphere – it doesn't matter if you've never danced before or have been attending classes for years – everyone is supported but equally encouraged by the talented & passionate teachers. Exercise & dance is made so fun at Studio K! Try it out – free taster classes are offered if you are curious.— Caroline Alexander
Most people begin with a beginners' group class covering the basic frame, posture and a first dance or two. From there you build up a repertoire gradually as the steps become familiar.
The waltz is a common starting point thanks to its steady rhythm and clear pattern. Some prefer to begin with a livelier dance like the quickstep, but a gentle three-count dance is often gentlest for newcomers.
The basic salsa step is quick to grasp, and most beginners manage it early on. Refining timing, turns and partner work is where the longer-term learning lies.
Absolutely, salsa classes are designed with complete beginners in mind. Repetition of the fundamentals gives non-dancers a reliable footing.
Yes, many studios offer ballet aimed at adult beginners. It builds strength, alignment and grace, even if progress feels more gradual than for children.
For enjoyment and fitness, it is never too late to begin ballet. Only professional training has strict age windows; recreational classes welcome all ages.
