What Dancers Say About Stagecoach Performing Arts Canterbury

5/5 from 14 Google reviews.

Our son started at Stagecoach Canterbury when he was 4 years old and loved it! Claire and her team of kind and enthusiasm teachers bring out the best in the children. The children gain confidence and self expression, whilst having tons of fun. The sessions are wonderful. A real mix of singing, drama and music. It’s all inclusive and everyone is encouraged to take part. Saturday was the highlight of the week for our son and Stagecoach was his extended family. I can’t recommend it enough. If you want your child to have fun and learn skills for life, look no further than Stagecoach in Canterbury.— Amanda Baxter

I have had to write a new review as my last one wasn’t in my opinion good enough to show how absolutely amazing Claire and her team are . My son not only enjoys his time with Stagecoach, where he’s made new friends, he has flourished with confidence and self esteem. On top of that there is LAMDA available to help improve his techniques to move forward as a professional young actor.
However the thing that shines through is Claire really does care about her students and offers time , advice and support far suppressing what you pay for . Thank you so much xxxxxxx— kelly gates

Since Danni and Lily have been going to Stagecoach Canterbury, their performing in Acting and Singing have improved greatly. Their dancing has also been able to learn new techniques. The teachers are very supportive. Having been part of both the 2018 world record breaking performance and Danni's time in Joseph and the amazing Technicolor dream coat tour, this gave Danni the confidence to audition and successfully get into Nativity the Musical tour in bothn Canterbury and London.— Peter Vears

Both of our children have attended for 4 years and have had a brilliant time for 3 and and one point 4 hours on a Saturday. It had given them the opportunity to learn and perform many different disciplines of the performing arts and they even had the amazing opportunity to perform alongside Jaymi Hensley in the West End Touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in March 2019— Rachel Franks

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you start ballroom dancing?

The easiest route is a structured beginners' class where a teacher introduces the steps gradually. For adults, a dedicated ballroom class elsewhere in Canterbury would be the place to start, as this school focuses on young performers.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

The waltz is a popular first dance thanks to its even rhythm, with the social foxtrot another gentle option. Both give you a solid base before moving on to livelier styles.

How hard is it to learn salsa?

Salsa is very approachable once the basic step clicks, which usually happens within the first lesson or two. Dancing regularly is what makes it feel smooth and instinctive.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Definitely. Beginner salsa sessions are built for people with no experience, teaching the timing and steps from the ground up.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

The grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, coaster step and pivot turn are the classic beginner moves. Learn a few and you can follow a surprising number of dances.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

Simple looping dances like the Electric Slide are ideal early on, because the same steps repeat around each wall and are quick to memorise.
