Our History
Stage One Theatre School & Production Company was founded in 1999 by professional dancer and choreographer, Mark Davenport. Mark had a vision to create a school of dance that would be accessible to all, regardless of age or ability. From humble beginnings, Stage One has grown to become one of the most respected and recognised dance schools in the UK.
Our Classes & Workshops
Stage One offers a wide range of classes and workshops for both children and adults. Our classes and workshops cover a variety of dance styles, from classical ballet and jazz to contemporary and hip-hop. We also offer classes in acting, singing, and musical theatre. Our classes are taught by experienced and qualified instructors who are passionate about the art of dance.
Our Performances
Stage One is proud to present a variety of performances throughout the year. Our professional productions include full-length musicals, plays, and ballets. We also produce smaller-scale cabaret performances and variety shows. Our performances are always of the highest quality and are sure to entertain and delight audiences of all ages.
Our Facilities
Stage One is located in St James Church Hall in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Our facilities include a large studio space with sprung flooring, a fully-equipped theatre, and a music room. We also have a comfortable waiting area and a café for our pupils and parents.
