Siobhan Davies Studios is an arts organisation in London housed in a distinctive, purpose-designed building near the Imperial War Museum. It is a hub for dance and the wider arts, with generous, light-filled spaces used for creative work and events. Rather than a conventional teaching school, it operates as a venue and organisation supporting artists and the community. It suits people drawn to contemporary dance and the arts more broadly.
Visitors praise a modern, well-equipped building with excellent facilities and a helpful, polite team, and it is warmly regarded as a venue for gatherings and events. It suits those who appreciate thoughtful architecture and a professional, community-minded space.
As an arts organisation and venue, its activity centres on supporting dance and creative practice within its studios rather than running a fixed timetable of beginner lessons. For anyone exploring dance in London, it is worth checking directly what workshops, performances or classes are being hosted at any given time. The spaces themselves are generous and well suited to movement and rehearsal. Programming can vary, so contacting the organisation is the surest way to see what is on.
If you are attending an event or a hosted session, expect a modern building with good facilities and welcoming staff. Wear clothing suited to whatever you are attending, and check any specific requirements when you book. The team is helpful and happy to guide first-time visitors.
The studios are located in London close to the Imperial War Museum and are well served by public transport.
Siobhan Davies were a fantastic venue for our wedding. I would highly recommend.
They went over and above, above and beyond, the extra mile (and all other analogies to describe an excellent team) to make our day really special. Matt and the team had such expertise and helped us plan and steer the day.
They were so helpful and really flexible with the set up and pack down. My guests all commented on how welcome they felt and how child friendly the space is. Thank you so much!!!— Pauline Redondo Etim

This is a modern building which means facilities are up to the current demanding standards in terms of health and safety.— JARZ SECTION 1
Matt and the team helped me pull off an amazing wedding with just 3 months planning! Service and reception held in one building accross 3 floors and a courtyard.
Amazing service, lovely facilities, superb venue all round.
Would recommend to anyone that wants a different wedding.— Elinor Adaev

Salsa's basic step is quick for most people to grasp, with the trickier timing and turns developing over time. Regular practice is the key to smooth progress.
Yes, salsa welcomes complete beginners and teaches the steps from the ground up. No prior experience is required.
Yes, adults can take up ballet and benefit from its focus on strength and posture. Beginner adult classes start from the basics.
For recreational ballet, no age is too late, and people begin at all stages of life. The enjoyment matters more than the timing.
Common staples include the grapevine, kick-ball-change, shuffle, pivot turn and coaster step. Beginner routines are usually combinations of these.
Dances built on the grapevine and a few simple walks are typically the easiest to start with. Ask whoever is teaching for their most beginner-friendly routine.
