I cannot recommend Richardz enough. The teaching staff are always supportive, patient and friendly. I started ballroom and latin from scratch in 2017 and 6 years later I can confidently say that I have always left the studio with a smile on my face after every class! I progressed a lot in both Latin and Ballroom and they gave me the confidence to take part in many competitions, even one in Blackpool! If you are thinking of trying Latin and Ballroom or other styles of dance that they offer at Richardz, I would 10000% recommend you go to a class here! (Shout out to Paul who was patient with me e— Aaliyah Wallace
I've attended Richardz for a number of year's and I am lucky enough to be taught by both Richard and Paul. I take regular classes and also have private lessons, the classes are always fun and constructive and my lessons allow me to work towards that next level. The teaching staff are highly trained and the studio is fully equipped and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoy learning and dancing at Richardz and would advise anyone thinking about learning to dance to pick up the phone and get booked in as I can't recommend Richardz highly enough.— Joanne Chatwin
We have been attending Richardz dance school for nearly a year now and think it is fab!
My 7 year old loves her Ballroom and Latin lessons, the teachers are friendly and patient which has given her so much confidence. She always has a big smile whenever she is there!
My 3 year old was a little nervous around people coming out of lockdown but has really come out of her shell and loves her Baby Ballet class. She is always talking about her teacher and showing us what she can do.
We could not recommend it more! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟— Rebecca Jeffs
This is the most amazing dance school. The focus is 100% on people having fun and really enjoying dance. My daughter has been going there for almost 10 years and has made some lovely friends. All the teachers and the owner go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and that includes the parents! I've watched my daughter progress over the years and seen her confidence grow.
I would highly recommend this dance school to anyone.— Rachel King
Salsa is approachable for beginners once the basic timing clicks, and most people manage the core steps within a few classes. Regular practice builds those steps into confident dancing.
Yes, salsa and similar dances are taught from scratch for people with no background. The steps are broken down slowly, so newcomers can follow along.
Yes, adults can take up ballet and gain from its work on posture and strength, though you would need a school that offers it. It is worth asking about adult provision directly.
For recreational dancing there is no age too late, as classes adapt to the individual. Beginning later in life is entirely achievable and rewarding.
Common moves include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle. Because they recur across many dances, learning them makes new routines quicker to grasp.
A short dance with one repeating sequence and no complex turns is the easiest to begin with. Teachers usually teach one of these first so the pattern soon becomes second nature.
