History

Queens Park Rangers was founded in 1886 as a merger between St. Jude’s Institute and Christchurch Rangers. The club spent much of its early years playing in the Southern League before joining the Football League in 1920. In 1967, the club won the League Cup, becoming the first Third Division club to win a major trophy. The club has also been successful in the FA Cup, reaching the final in 1982 and winning the competition in 1982.

Recent Years

In 2011, Queens Park Rangers achieved promotion to the Premier League, but were relegated the following season. The club then won the Championship in 2014 and returned to the Premier League. In 2015, the club finished in mid-table, but was relegated again in 2016. The club currently competes in the Championship and is aiming for promotion back to the Premier League.
