About Pole Dancing Wrexham

The mood is friendly and encouraging, with reviewers highlighting Lydia's patience, deep knowledge and the small class sizes that mean everyone gets attention. Dancers mention progressing further here than elsewhere and sharing plenty of laughs along the way, and the classes are noted for catering to each person's strengths and offering easier alternatives when a move is tricky. It suits complete beginners and returning dancers alike.

Classes & Dance Styles

The main focus is pole dancing, which sits a little apart from the more traditional dance classes in Wrexham but is taught here with real care for technique. Beginner courses run frequently, and a class covers warming up, learning and demonstrating individual moves and combining them into short routines, with Lydia adapting moves to suit each dancer. While this is not a venue for ballroom dancing in Wrexham or line dancing in Wrexham, it is a strong option among adult dance classes in Wrexham and dance lessons in Wrexham for anyone drawn to pole. Progression from beginner to more advanced work is well supported.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Newcomers can expect a small, welcoming class and clear, patient instruction from the very first move. Wear comfortable, close fitting clothing such as shorts and a vest top, as bare skin helps you grip the pole, and bring some water. No experience or particular strength is needed to begin.

What Dancers Say About Pole Dancing Wrexham

5/5 from 3 Google reviews.

Lydia the instructor is lovely and full of PD knowledge. I started on the beginner courses that are frequently available. The class size is small and Lydia is extremely patient in explaining and demonstrating any moves you may have trouble with. I have since progressed from beginner courses and now attend solo and group sessions. Each one is unique learning new moves and combos to continually progress. The strength I have gained since starting is amazing! There is no strength or flexibility requirement to start, I would highly recommend to anyone and added bonus it builds your confidence up al— Christine Bush

I’ve been taking classes with Lydia for just over a year and they are fantastic. I’ve been doing pole for 4 years and I’ve learnt and progressed more in the last year than anywhere else!
As an instructor she is very knowledge and experienced. She is an excellent dancer as well as being highly advanced with skills and tricks and insane flexibility! She is very friendly and her small classes are always inclusive and inviting! Lydia is patient and will walk you through moves, providing adjustments that may be needed!
I’m so glad I found her classes and started with her!— Call Me Dawn

Lydia is the best instructor!! Caters for everyone, she considers everyone in her class strengths and weaknesses when giving us a routine or trick to attempt, having alternatives at the ready.

We have such a giggle and all encourage eachother. Ive been to other studios and not felt as comfortable, she really puts you at ease! No skills required there is something for everyone, my strength has really come on of late and it's such a confidence boost !!— Jessica Suckley

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you start ballroom dancing?

Ballroom is usually started with a beginner lesson at a ballroom school, learning posture and a simple step. This particular studio specialises in pole dancing rather than ballroom, so a dedicated ballroom teacher would be the place to begin for that.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

The waltz is a common first ballroom dance thanks to its steady three count timing. For pole dancing, which is what is taught here, you would instead start with foundational grips and beginner moves rather than a named dance.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

Line dancing uses moves like the grapevine, shuffle, kick ball change, heel touch and pivot turn. Note that this studio focuses on pole dancing rather than line dancing, so you would look to a line dancing group for those steps.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

A short, repeating four wall dance is the easiest line dance to start with. As this is a pole dancing studio, a beginner pole course would instead ease you in with simple grips and spins.

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes, and pole dancing is a perfect example, as it is danced entirely on your own. The small classes here mean you get plenty of individual guidance while working solo.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

For pole dancing, wear comfortable, close fitting clothing like shorts and a vest top, since exposed skin helps you grip the pole, and bring water. Avoid lotions on the day, as they can make the pole slippery.
