Introduction

The North Yorkshire Dance Academy (NYDA) is a dance school based in York, England. It offers a range of dance classes for all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced. The Academy is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all, and aims to provide a quality dance education to its students.

History

NYDA was founded in 2020 by professional dancer and choreographer, Emily Smith. Emily has been teaching dance for over 10 years, and has been a part of the UK dance scene for even longer. She has a passion for teaching and inspiring others to take up dance, and wanted to create a place for people to come and learn in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Classes and Courses

NYDA offers a range of classes and courses for all ages and abilities. These include:

• Beginner classes in Ballroom, Latin, and Street Dance
• Intermediate and advanced classes in Ballroom, Latin, and Street Dance
• Private lessons for individuals or couples
• Group classes for children and adults
• Workshops and masterclasses

All classes are taught by experienced and qualified teachers.

Facilities

NYDA is based in the Village Hall in Linton-on-Ouse, York. The hall has a large dance floor, a sound system, and changing rooms. There is also free parking available for students.

Events

NYDA regularly hosts events such as dance shows, competitions, and social dances. These events are open to all, and are a great way to meet other dancers and practice your skills.
