At Funky Squirrels from Derby, we’re passionate about dance and we strive to provide the best dance instruction in the UK. Our mission is to bring the joy of dance to everyone – no matter their age, experience level, or background. We offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

Our History

Funky Squirrels from Derby was founded in 2018 by experienced dance instructor and choreographer, Sarah Smith. She wanted to create a safe and welcoming space for people to learn, practice, and enjoy the art of dance. Since then, our studio has grown to become one of the most respected and popular dance schools in the UK.

Our Services

At Funky Squirrels from Derby, we offer a wide variety of dance classes for all ages and skill levels. Our classes include:

• Ballroom Dance – Learn the basics of ballroom dancing, including the waltz, tango, foxtrot, and more.
• Latin Dance – Learn the basics of Latin dancing, including the cha-cha, salsa, rumba, and more.
• Hip-Hop Dance – Learn the basics of hip-hop dancing, including breakdancing, locking, popping, and more.
• Jazz Dance – Learn the basics of jazz dancing, including the Charleston, Lindy Hop, and more.
• Tap Dance – Learn the basics of tap dancing, including the shuffle, flaps, and more.
• Ballet – Learn the basics of ballet, including the five positions, pliés, and more.
• Contemporary Dance – Learn the basics of contemporary dancing, including modern, lyrical, and more.

We also offer private lessons and workshops for those who want to take their dancing to the next level.

We are located at 26 Park Ave, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2JT. Our studio is conveniently located close to the city centre and is easily accessible by car or public transportation.
