What Dancers Say About Firth School Of Dancing

5/5 from 2 Google reviews.

Excellent dance teaching. We go to one of their evening ballroom/ Latin dance classes each week. The teachers are very helpful and patient with us. The group is friendly and welcoming. The classes are held at Blaby & District Social Centre/ Blaby Village Hall and we have attended on Tuesdays and Fridays, though they also hold a class on Monday as well. We are complete beginners but there are people at all different levels in the classes. The teachers are very attentive to the various needs of their students and everyone progresses at their own pace. They also hold a Saturday Dance once a month— Angua Von Uberwald

We love our dancing lessons every week, we have a laugh and we always learn something new and work on perfecting the dances we know. Sheila is a very experienced teacher and great at getting you going even if you have never danced before.— Laraine Tucker

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you start ballroom dancing?

Join a beginners class, where the hold and a few basic steps are taught step by step. Regular weekly attendance usually has you dancing a simple routine within a few weeks.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

The waltz is a common first dance thanks to its clear three-beat rhythm. Many people also start with a social foxtrot, whose walking action transfers to other dances.

How hard is it to learn salsa?

Salsa is fairly quick to grasp once the rhythm settles, though timing rewards a little practice. The basic step is simple, and turns follow before long.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes, beginner salsa is designed for those who have never danced. Steps are built up from the start, so no experience is needed.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

The grapevine, the shuffle, the pivot turn, the kick-ball-change and the coaster step are among the staples. Most dances combine a few of these and repeat them through the routine.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

A short four-wall dance repeating one simple sequence is the easiest starting point. Built from a few basic steps, it is quick to remember and enjoyable to dance.
