I did Greek dancing lessons with my partner and my family for my wedding, and we had the best time. I would highly recommend Jack. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient and easy to learn from. I enrolled in an intensive one-day "master class" to learn the Hasapiko, or dance of the butcher, which is a choreographed dance traditionally performed at weddings by friends of the groom. I have been taking greek dance lessons for a couple years now, and was already familiar with the dance, but I still learned a ton from Jack. The class was set up well where both novices and intermediates took a lot away from the class. Me and my fiancee wanted to learn zeimbekiko which is a very traditional Greek dance. We both wanted to be able to dance this at our wedding. Jack helped us (and me specifically) not only learn the steps but also have the courage and the confidence that’s required to do this type of dance.

I joined Figoura 5 years ago with the intention of doing one term in order to brush up a few moves. I then discovered a whole new concept of Greek dancing and how little I actually knew about it.

After my second year I continued my beginners classes and also joined the advance classes and became an Associate for the Figoura Performing Group. All I can say is, that it has been educational, sociable, fun and a fantastic form of exercise to distract me after a stressful day at work.
