I love the classes offered by Edinburgh dance school! I first approached Felicity at wedding show 7 years ago. Her friendly, professional and bubbly down to earth personality won us over straight away!
From then on we went to group ballroom classes for the more novice dancers and then booked private one to one dance classes to learn a personalised routine for our wedding dance.
I now have a girl that has just turned 2 1/2 years old and I have started her in twinkle stars ballet which she loves. The class is just the right length of time to hold her attention and the teachers are amazing a— Catriona Adamson
Myself and my dad went to a group class to learn how to dance for my wedding day, falicity and max were brilliant with us as myself and my dad had never danced before. We then went into take some private lessons on the run up to wedding, falicity and max made a dance up which was perfect for us. Me and my dad got to spend some lovely time together and everyone loved are dance at the wedding. Very reasonably priced andv would highly recommend.— Michaela Walker
We got Learn2Wedding Dance vouchers for our first dance with EDS. Felt very nervous and didnt know what to expect. Felicity was amazing and put us at ease right away. Not being dancers, we felt as though we may not do well but after 1 hour, we now know our first dance and have the confidence to practice at home before our next lesson. Highly recommend Felicity and so glad we had this arranged for our first dance!!— Laura Gonoude
Really enjoy adult beginners class on Thursday evenings. So much fun, Max and Felicity are really welcoming— Michelle Scott
The easiest way in is a beginners' class or an introductory private lesson where the hold, timing and first steps are taught gently. No partner or experience is needed, and the studio can suggest the best starting option.
The waltz suits many beginners for its smooth, simple rhythm, though wedding couples often start with the style that fits their song. A teacher will help pick something manageable.
The basic salsa step is quick to grasp once you lock into the timing, and most people handle the fundamentals within a few classes. Regular practice makes it feel natural.
Yes, salsa is designed for social dancers and complete beginners fill entry-level classes. Simply start with a session marked for newcomers.
Yes, adults can take up ballet and improve steadily at their own pace. As it is not this studio's main focus, contact them to check availability or ask where to look.
It is never too late; ballet adapts to different ages and fitness levels. Seek out a class aimed at adult beginners rather than long-time dancers.
