The Derbyshire Academy of Performing Arts (DAPA) in Alfreton is a leading dance and drama school offering a wide range of classes and performance opportunities for all ages and abilities. History

DAPA was established in 1998 by professional dancers and actors, with the aim of providing the highest quality education in the performing arts. The Academy has grown from strength to strength over the years, and is now one of the most respected and renowned schools in the UK.

Facilities

DAPA is located above a Nisa Supermarket on Greenhill Lane in Riddings, Alfreton. The Academy has two large, well-equipped studios, as well as a smaller studio for private tuition. The Academy also has a fully-stocked costume department, and a dedicated rehearsal space for students to practice their performance pieces.

Classes

DAPA offers a wide range of classes for all ages and abilities. These include ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, street dance, acting, musical theatre, and singing. The Academy also offers private tuition and workshops for those looking to develop their skills further.

Events and Performances

DAPA regularly holds events and performances throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents. These include the annual summer show, which is held in June, and the Christmas show, which is held in December. The Academy also hosts regular showcases and competitions, such as the annual DAPA Dance Off.
