Demeric School of Dance teaches from Farnham Maltings, giving younger dancers in this Surrey town a grounding in ballet, modern and tap. Parents describe children who joined at around five and have progressed steadily year on year, with the school providing a strong first introduction to dance. The teaching is warmly recommended by the families who use it. It is chiefly a children's dance school built around graded, classical foundations.
Based at the well-known Farnham Maltings arts venue, the school covers ballet, modern and tap for young pupils. Its approach is graded and encouraging, helping children build technique and confidence together over time.
The teaching spans ballet, modern and tap, so young dancers develop a broad base rather than a single narrow skill. Demeric School of Dance is a wonderful ballet school based in Farnham. My daughter and many of her friends have attended since they were 5 and it has given them all a brilliant introduction to ballet, modern and tap. She has progressed really well over the years and the dance school can also open children up to other opportunities within dance, if that is what they want to do. There are annual events, a choreography competition for all ages and an amazing show every 3/4 years. It is a nurturing environment and the teachers are wonderful with the children. A perfect local ballet school.— Sophie Penney

Salsa's basic step is easy to grasp, with timing that improves through practice. Most beginners feel comfortable within a few sessions.
