DanceWest Studio is a dance school in London, set within a community arts centre and surrounded by parkland. It runs classes for a broad age range, from toddlers through to adults, in a calm and welcoming space. The atmosphere leans towards friendly and unhurried rather than competitive.
Visitors praise the skilled, warm teachers and the clean, relaxing studio, with mentions of Kate, Rosie and Lucy being especially helpful. Families appreciate the mix of creative sessions for very young children alongside classes for older ages, and the small café adds to the easy-going feel.
The timetable spans creative dance for little ones, hip hop for children and a range of styles for grown-ups, so it fits naturally among dance classes in London and dance lessons in London. Adults looking at adult dance classes in London will find approachable sessions here, and while the studio's strengths sit outside salsa classes in London and line dancing in London, its varied programme touches areas that appeal to those exploring ballet classes in London too. Classes generally build technique, coordination and confidence through steady, age-appropriate progression.
Newcomers can expect a gentle introduction and helpful staff who answer questions promptly. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing and bring soft, suitable footwear for the studio floor.
The studio sits inside a community centre within a London park, making it convenient for nearby residents and families.
Look no further. DanceWest Studio is The Place! Teachers are really skilled and lovely human beings, the studio is very relaxing, sparkling clean and surrounded by the lush green of South Park. Kate, Rosie and Lucy are gracefully welcoming and helpful in promptly answering all the class' questions. So far I have tried pilates, yoga and barre, and they're all great in different ways. Whatever you choose you'll feel more fit, toned, flexible but also more relaxed and ready to go back into the London's frenziness. Thank you for creating such a peaceful space!— Agnese
Fabulous studio – wonderful classes for all ages – and the teachers have been exceptional at all the classes I’ve trialled:
– 1.5-4yo (creative dance, dancing books where they read snippets from a book and recreated the movements and actions – absolutely lovely!)
– 4yrs+ (hip hop and street, contemporary, acro dance (gymnastics in dance – sounds amazing!) and others)
– teens (yoga)
– adults (ballet was brilliant) and specific elderly classes too
– special needs
Highly recommended.— Nick & Sarah Law
Wonderful and cozy dance and yoga studio for children and adults. Located inside South Park. With a small and lovely café where you can have a coffee or juice after your dance class or while you wait for the kids to finish theirs. Hitly recommended!!— Moni F. Friend
Beautiful studio in the heart of Fulham, offering a range of dance and movement classes for the community. I love teaching here as the staff are super welcoming and supportive to everyone. Highly recommend.— Hanna Wroblewski
The basic salsa step is easy to grasp, with turns and styling taking a little longer. Regular attendance is the quickest way to feel comfortable.
Yes, complete beginners take up salsa all the time, and a starter class assumes no experience at all.
Adults can absolutely begin ballet, focusing on posture, control and gradual progress. It is never framed as needing childhood training.
Recreational ballet has no cut-off age, as classes can be adapted for older beginners. Enjoyment and gentle improvement are the real aims.
Common line-dance moves include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and coaster step. Once learned, they carry across many dances.
A short, repeating four-wall dance is usually the friendliest first choice. An instructor can match one to music you enjoy.
