Crescents Ballet School is a children's ballet school in Worcester with its own studios, offering structured classes for young dancers from their earliest years. It has built a strong local following among families in the city and surrounding county. The school pairs proper ballet training with a warm, community feel. Children often stay for years as they progress.
Families describe the school as feeling like one big, supportive family, with teachers such as Ms Jane praised for patience and dedication. Parents recall the care taken with nervous first-timers and the extra effort during difficult periods, including keeping children dancing at home. The result is a loyal community where young dancers thrive over many years.
The heart of the school is graded ballet for children, building technique and confidence step by step as dancers grow older and more able. It also forms part of Worcester's wider offering of dance classes and dance lessons, with adult dance classes and ballet classes available across Worcestershire for those seeking them. Crescents itself centres on nurturing young dancers through careful progression. Each level builds naturally on the last.
A child's first lesson is handled gently, with any nerves taken into account so they can settle and enjoy it. Comfortable clothing suitable for ballet and soft ballet shoes are the usual requirement. Parents can ask about the right class for their child's age before starting.
The school runs from its own studios in Worcester, convenient for families across the city and county, and it is worth confirming class times and location before a first visit.
I took my two-year-old granddaughter for her first ballet lesson, as you can appreciate she has not had a great deal of interaction with other children due to the pandemic so was extremely nervous, this was taken into consideration so she could get the most out of the lesson.
With a great deal of skill they managed to get Amilee to join in with the other children & partake in the class whilst I was in Amilee’s view.
I would definitely recommend to others and I can’t wait to see you all again next week.
Hopefully next week I will be able to sit outside with the other Nanas and mums

My daughter has been dancing with Crescents & Ms Jane since she was 3 years old … she loves every minute of it. Thank goodness Ms Jane and the Crescents Team organised FREE Zoom lessons almost daily throughout the 5 1/2 months of COVID-19 Lockdown … I am positive my daughter would have found the social isolation so much harder to cope with, if she hadn't had the opportunity to dance & interact with her teachers & peers. Her father & I have been so grateful that Crescents & Ms Jane have always, put their dancers well being before anything else.
