Caffi Cymunedol

Caffi Cymunedol is the community cafe inside Dyffryn Ardudwy and Talybont Community Centre, not a dance school, so it is only fair to say that no classes are taught here. It features in this directory as a well-loved local venue on the Gwynedd coast, and with over a hundred reviews and a 4.7 rating it is plainly a village favourite. Diners praise friendly staff, hearty breakfasts and a cosy, welcoming setting. The building it sits in is the kind of community hall that often hosts local activities.

About Caffi Cymunedol

The cafe is a hidden gem in a quaint village, known for good-value food, a warm welcome and even a treat for visiting dogs. As part of a community centre, it is a hub for local life rather than a place offering dance tuition.

Classes & Dance Styles

No dance classes run from the cafe itself, so there are no styles, levels or timetables to list. That said, community centres like this one frequently make their halls available to outside dance teachers and clubs, so it is worth asking at the centre whether any dance sessions use the venue. For actual tuition you would look to a dedicated dance school in the wider area.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

If you are calling in to eat, expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating and parking nearby. There is nothing to book or prepare as you would for a dance lesson.

Location & Contact

The community centre sits in the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, close to the beaches and countryside of the Gwynedd coast, and functions as a gathering point for the surrounding area.

What Dancers Say About Caffi Cymunedol

4.7/5 from 102 Google reviews.

Had a really lovely meal here.Staff were friendly, helpful and service was with a smile.A beautiful location, inside it's cosy and a hidden little gem of a place- in this quaint little village of Dyffryn.I honestly can't wait to go back and sample what unfortunately, I just didn't have room for, a cake. Wow, the cake's looked incredibly mouthwatering indeed! Thank very much to the lovely ladies who served my friend and I and I hope to see you both again very soon. Many Thanks.— N Jenks

We had breakfast here as we were passing. Nice place, had lots of tables to sit at. The ladies behind the counter were pleasant. We got chatting to a friendly Welsh chap. My breakfast (the veggie sausage I think) was a little over done than I would have liked but overall it was nice. I didn't want to say anything as community cafes are usually run by volunteers so just ate it. We would come again.— William Lewis

This has to be the best tasting, best quality and best value breakfast I've had. The staff are lovely, our dogs are always welcomed with a dog treat too. Plenty of car parking opposite by the allotment. Don't pass by this gem of a place. Definitely worth waiting even when they are very busy. Indoor and outdoor seating available.— Ellie Jones

We stay in Dyffryn at the beginning of July. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Good range of food options – we enjoyed a variety of cakes on three separate occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the cooked brunch on the Sunday. Well worth a visit – we certainly will when we’re next in the area. Paul, Anne and Alf— Paul Ablett

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes, many people learn on their own and swap partners during class. You would need to approach a dance school or a club using a hall locally, as the cafe does not run lessons.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

For a class, choose comfortable clothes you can move in and smooth-soled shoes. This does not apply to visiting the cafe, where everyday clothing is fine.

How much does a dance class usually cost?

It depends on the school, the length of the class and how you pay. A local dance teacher would be able to give you their current prices.

Which dance is best for beginners?

Straightforward, repetitive styles such as the waltz are gentle on newcomers, though the best choice often follows the music you like. A nearby school could advise you.

What is the best dance to start as an adult?

Adults often begin with an easygoing partner dance whose basics carry over to other styles. A taster class at a proper school is the best way to see what suits you.

Is dancing good for heart failure?

Gentle dancing can be pleasant light exercise, but anyone with a heart condition should talk to their doctor first and follow the guidance they are given.
