What Dancers Say About Ballroom & Latin Dance Lessons

5/5 from 4 Google reviews.

We took private lessons with Anna for our first dance at our wedding and are so grateful to her and the overall experience.

We are non-dancers, and chose a non-traditional first dance song. Anna didn't bat an eyelash and choreographed a really playful and fun dance. She provided advice, encouragement and honestly every lesson was really enjoyable – although she did maintain discipline and we always practiced so we didn't disappoint her!

We were a little sad when we'd finished classes, although we asked for classes on our wedding registry so I'm sure
she'll be seeing us again soon…

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you start ballroom dancing?

The easiest way to start is with a beginners lesson that introduces posture, frame and a simple step in one or two styles. From there you build a foundation you can carry into other ballroom dances.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

Many people begin with the waltz or a social foxtrot, as their steady rhythms make the basics easier to feel. A teacher can help you pick a first dance that matches your goals.

What is the best Latin dance for beginners?

Cha-cha and rumba are popular starting points thanks to their clear rhythms and manageable basic steps. Trying a lesson in each helps you find the one you enjoy most.

Is Latin dance good for beginners?

Yes, Latin styles are lively and built on repeatable basics that newcomers pick up steadily. They are also an enjoyable way to stay active.

How long before a wedding should you take dance lessons?

A couple of months ahead gives comfortable time to learn and rehearse, though shorter routines need less. Contact the teachers to plan around your date.

How many dances do couples do at a wedding?

Most couples prepare a single first dance, though some choose to add more. It is entirely your decision and can be discussed when booking.
