SA Dance is a well-established London dance school operating from a base in the Ealing area of west London. It has built a loyal following of dancers who value both the teaching and the sense of community around it. From young beginners preparing for their first stage appearance to adults rediscovering movement after years away, the school welcomes a broad mix. Performance opportunities and steady, caring instruction sit at the heart of what it offers.
Students speak warmly of teachers who lead with love, patience and genuine care, and of a positive atmosphere that helps nervous newcomers believe in themselves. The school kept its community going through lockdown with online lessons, which tells you something about its commitment. It suits anyone wanting encouragement as much as technique.
SA Dance offers a spread of dance classes in London covering technique, performance and confidence-building across ages and levels. Depending on the timetable you might find ballet classes London families rely on, expressive styles for young performers, and adult dance classes London newcomers can grow into. The teaching is quality-focused, with a track record of preparing dancers for real stage shows. Whether you want dance lessons London-wide for a child or a fresh start yourself, there is usually a suitable entry point.
Come in clothing you can move freely in, with appropriate shoes for the style you are trying and some water. Expect a friendly reception and teachers who take time to settle you in, especially if nerves are running high. Many first-timers say the encouragement is what brings them back.
The school is based around Ealing in west London, an area served by good rail, Underground and bus connections. Allow a few extra minutes on your first visit to locate the entrance.
We had so much fun yesterday at the SA end of the year's show, "Under the stars" at The Beck theatre, Haynes. This was the first time for my daughter performing on a real stage. She enjoyed the whole experience but seeing professional dancers was her dream coming true. Aretha is amazing and so are all the other teachers. They are really passionate about dancing, and they do everything possible to make everyone feel welcomed and part of this big special family. We feel very lucky to have our girl learning with them. Everything is done in a professional manner but yet with a bubbly, energetic an— Beatrice Maccarrone
SAdance is definitely brilliant!
Teachers teach their students with love, passion and care.
They continued to provide high quality online lessons during the lockdown caused by Covid-19.
My daughter is Japanese and could not speak English when she first joined SAdance, but the teachers and students at SAdance welcomed her warmly as a member .
And they gave her many wonderful great experiences that she could only have in the UK.
We are truly grateful to them.
We are proud to have been members of SAdance.
Unfortunately we have to go back to Japan, but we will continue to work hard and cherish wha— 岸川瞳
I love dancing with SA Dance. I joined the school 4 years ago and am so glad I did. At that time, I did not believe in myself and I was afraid of not being able to dance anymore as I stopped doing any kind of physical activity for quite a long time, almost 5 years. The positivity, professionalism and knowledge of the teachers made my dream come true. After just one year my body responded to every movement and I was in full control of my muscles. I was also able to dance on points, something that I thought was impossible. This is another quality of SA Dance; teachers have a great dedication to — Giulia Coke
SA Dance is a fantastic place. Great and encouraging teachers providing a full range of enjoyable, fun and challenging dance disciplines, including tap dance, modern jazz, ballet and contemporary. They also have capabilities for specialist groups (i.e. associate programmes) to stretch pupils abilities. Our daughter is quickly improving her dancing skills and making lots of new friends. The professionalism and dedication of the teachers are remarkable, it can be felt they really love what they do and are able to communicate their passion.— Yolanda Álvarez
The basic salsa step is quick to pick up, while smoother timing and turns develop with practice. A beginner class introduces it gradually so it never feels overwhelming.
Yes, complete beginners learn salsa regularly and most classmates start from scratch too. The steps are taught in stages so you build up steadily.
Definitely, adults take up ballet for its strength, posture and grace, with beginner classes designed for those who have never danced. Progress comes at a pace that suits you.
It is never too late; people begin ballet at all ages and dance purely for the pleasure and the physical benefits. Adult classes are shaped around enjoyment rather than exams.
Typical building blocks are the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle. Most dances simply string these together in different orders.
Short, repetitive four-wall dances are the gentlest introduction because the same steps come round again. A teacher will choose beginner-friendly routines to start.
