King’s College, Cambridge is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom. History

King’s College was founded in 1441 by King Henry VI, who wanted to create a new college to rival the existing universities of Oxford and Cambridge. The college was built on the site of a former hospital and was originally known as the College of St. Mary and St. Nicholas.
