I couldn’t find good pole teachers since I moved to London and felt a bit lost. I came across Iris pole dance studio on Instagram and went for a class and I was totally blown by Marina’s teaching skills. There are so many talented pole dancers out there but it’s pretty difficult to find ones with good teaching skills, but Marina is “the one” who is both a talented pole dancer and a good teacher. She always ensures all the students are following and explains the moves with easy words for students to understand. She’s the best teacher ever. I feel so lucky to meet her and can’t wait for the next— 수양 sooyang park
I had taken a few pole classes before taking a year long break and decided to start again and come to Marina’s classes – I cannot recommend enough! The new studio is very spacious and clean, and the classes are 1 to a pole which is very rare!
She is always very clear and calm, and always makes sure you are doing a move properly so you don’t injure yourself. You also don’t need to worry too much about what your level is if you’ve taken a break as she will accommodate for you and everyone is different in class! I have progressed in pole quicker than I would have imagined since my first class wi— Anastasia A
As one of Google's local guides, I must say that I am really glad that I came across Iris pole's ad on Instagram.
This has completely changed my perspective on how to train efficiently and smart. As someone who has never had any experience in any sort of dance or specific sports, pole became a passion rather than just a routine work out for me. But this could not have happen without the support of all the instructors in Iris studio.
Firstly, the place is very convenient to reach, 2 mins away from Kilburn and 3 mins away from Brondsbury stations. It is only for women which is a plus for me pe— Bahar Iraninejad
I cannot stress enough how much this studio has changed my life. I have found here a sense of community and sisterhood with other students and the teachers, in addition to be talented pole dancers are very caring and supportive with their students. I have been going there for three years and it really feels like home and family now. I have been training with Marina, Walleska and Sandra. Each one of them have their own style but are very complementary and the atmosphere in their classes are very up lifting. They all challenge us in a very supportive way and really make you believe in yourself.— Jennifer Diehl

Yes, non-dancers learn salsa regularly in beginner classes that assume no experience. As Iris focuses on pole, you would look to a salsa-specific studio for that style.

It is never too late to begin ballet as an adult; people take it up purely for pleasure and wellbeing. The right class is one pitched to your level.
Line-dance basics include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle. This studio focuses on pole, so a line-dancing class elsewhere would cover these.
Short, repetitive dances are the easiest to learn as a few steps repeat throughout. For line dancing specifically, a beginners' class in London is the best route.
