The Department of Music at King’s College London is a world-leading centre for music research, teaching and performance. Located in the heart of London, it is one of the oldest and most respected music departments in the UK.

Research

The Department of Music is home to a vibrant research community, with staff and students conducting research across a wide range of topics. Projects range from historical and theoretical studies to performance-based research, and many of the department’s staff are internationally renowned in their fields.

Teaching

The Department of Music offers a wide range of courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. These include musicology, performance, composition, music technology and music education. Performance

The Department of Music is home to a number of performance groups, including the King’s College London Symphony Orchestra and the King’s College London Chamber Orchestra. The department also hosts regular concerts and recitals, as well as masterclasses and workshops.

Facilities

The Department of Music is based in the King’s College London G04 building, which is home to a number of state-of-the-art rehearsal and recording studios. The building also houses a library and a range of specialist teaching rooms.
