Torryburn Youth Dance Company – Bringing Dance to Dunfermline

Torryburn Youth Dance Company, located in Dunfermline, is a dance school and dance company that provides dance classes and workshops for children and young people of all ages and abilities. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun and supportive environment for all our students to learn, grow and develop their skills in dance.

Our History

Torryburn Youth Dance Company was founded in 2012 by our director, Emma Smith. Emma has been a dancer for over 20 years and has extensive experience in teaching and choreographing. She has a passion for providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn and express themselves through dance.

Since then, we have grown from a small dance school to a thriving dance company with over 200 students enrolled in our classes and workshops. We have performed at various events in and around Dunfermline, including the annual Dunfermline Arts Festival, and have been featured in local newspapers and on local radio.

Our Classes and Workshops

At Torryburn Youth Dance Company, we offer a wide range of classes and workshops for children and young people of all ages and abilities. Our classes include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap and modern dance. We also offer workshops in choreography, improvisation and performance.

We believe that everyone has the right to experience the joy of dance, and we strive to make our classes and workshops accessible to all. We offer reduced rates for those on low incomes, and we also provide scholarships for students who are unable to afford our classes.

Our Facilities

Torryburn Youth Dance Company is located in the heart of Dunfermline, in the historic Newmills area. Our facility includes two large dance studios, a café, and a viewing gallery for parents and family members to watch their children’s classes and performances.

We also have a range of equipment available for our classes and workshops, including mirrors, bars, and mats. We also have a library of books and DVDs available for our students to use.

Our Team

Torryburn Youth Dance Company is staffed by a team of dedicated and experienced teachers and choreographers. Our teachers are all highly qualified and have many years of experience in teaching and choreographing.

We also have a team of administrative staff who are responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the company, including registration, payments, and customer service.
