Where do I begin?! We wanted something special and memorable for the first dance at our wedding and boy did Sophie deliver! Neither of us are confident dancers but we loved every second of every session that we had, so much so we didn't want them to end! Sophie put us at complete ease, we had such good fun and it really felt like we had know each other for years which was so lovely! The dance was choreographed beautifully and matched our skills perfectly! First Dance Studios is amazing and Sophie is an absolute asset to them and true advocate for getting absolutely everyone of all abilities da— Charlotte Ford
I’ve been part of the First dance family since the beginning and feel a bit of a veteran now but one thing never changes and that’s how welcoming this studio is. Emma is such a wonderful human being and she has developed a fantastic place to come to dance to all whatever your standard and have fun . We’ve been through some uncertain times during the pandemic and have come out the other side due to Emma’s commitment and her loyal first dance friends who want their dance journey to continue. I hope to dance as long as I can with this fantastic studio. Fully recommend it to all who want to have — A Kay
Having tapped in the past but not for some time, I felt a tad rusty and wanted to get to grips with the fundamentals again. I signed up for the Tap Basics course and was not disappointed! It is perfect for brand new tappers and those returning to it. Karen is an excellent teacher – really friendly and put us all at ease immediately.
I really appreciated how she broke down each step and sequence and provided different ways to remember each move. She drills the steps home through repetition (which is vital) and concentrates on the technical aspects before building a short routine. She also provi— Dionne Moss
We booked Emma to help us with our first dance for our wedding. We enjoyed the dance lessons- much more than expected! It gave us the tools to have a simple yet impressive first dance, we received lots of compliments on it and we’re happy we did the lessons rather than just swayed together for a minute! Emma is so much fun and a great teacher who created a unique routine for us and tailored it for our abilities. We moved our wedding due to covid – Emma was also great at lifting our spirits throughout the uncertainty- would highly recommend 🙂— Danielle Sugrue
Yes, adults can absolutely learn ballet, usually through classes designed for grown-up beginners. It builds posture, strength and flexibility at any age.
There is no age that is too late to begin. Adults take up ballet at all stages of life, provided the class suits beginners.
Line dancing typically builds on the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle, which combine into most beginner routines.
Short, repeating four-wall dances are the easiest way in. An instructor can suggest a simple routine to build your confidence.
Yes. Many people attend on their own, and classes are arranged so that solo dancers can take part fully.
Comfortable clothing you can move in and suitable shoes for your style are all you need to start. Anything more specialist can come later.
