We have two children ( 6 and 9 ) at the RAD and we are 100 % happy and so are our children obviously. It has been 3 years now and each year, we are delighted with the teachers ( Chris and Mr Lewis this year ). They know our children so well that each time they give us a feedback, we completely recognise them. The teachers are great in terms of advices and most important : they are realistic and fair. What I like the most at the RAD is that every member of staff teaches rigour, respect and that is not incompatible with having fun ! My children always have the choice to attend or not and guess — Nadege I-L
I took the opportunity of a Free One Hour Taster Dance Class. The Class was for Classical South Asian Dance.
I had a wonderful hour!!
The Teacher, Laskmi, and I hope spelling of her name is correct, was thorough in her explanations of movements and footwork.
I would also like to mention Gray, who took me to the correct Studio and informed about RAD.
Overall a Wonderful Experience!!— Denise “Patience” L
Was at Royal Academy of Dance for the Wandsworth Fringe. Lovely location. The seating in the hall we were in was comfortable and the tiering of the seating was excellent, the heads of guests in front were not in line of view.
Easy to get to the location by bus or train from Victoria. The bus journey felt quicker, as the bus drops you right outside and there is a lot less walking.— Spencer Reynolds
One of the best dance schools in the world offering all types of dance and fitness classes. Go into the shop and see an array of gorgeous gift options for the dancer in your life. The party products in particular are great. The hoodies are so soft and warm! Make sure to show your membership number or student pass for 10% off.— Tara Ryan
Salsa is fairly easy to pick up at a basic level, with timing being the main thing to grasp. A few weeks of regular practice usually brings noticeable confidence.
Yes, most salsa dancers began with no experience whatsoever. Beginner classes assume nothing and require no partner.
Yes, adult ballet is a rewarding pursuit and classes cater specifically for beginners. With steady attendance you develop strength, alignment and control at any age.
No age is too late to enjoy ballet. What matters is consistent practice rather than starting young.
The grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle are staple beginner steps. They appear across most routines, so they form a useful foundation.
Routines with a simple, repeating grapevine pattern are the easiest to start with. To find out what beginner sessions are available, contact the academy directly.
