What Dancers Say About Bristol Dance Company Studio

5/5 from 6 Google reviews.

I have been with Lisa since 2006 Learning to dance. It started as lessons for our Wedding dance and we haven't looked back since, i'm only 36 now So i started dancing in my 20's (just) so you are never too young or think its too old to have a go. Not only is it great exercise, it is a really great place place to meet new friends, whether you come alone for the company or you drag your partner along, with its fully licensed bar – you can have a drink while your partner dances. I love going and when you turn your two left feet into something that can move across the dance floor – it looks ama— Gareth Edwards

It's a very cool place for small gatherings. Has sufficient parking space and nice ambience.— Henry .O. Ugah

Excellent dance school that run some really fun Evening Dances throughout the year.— Steve Harrop

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you start ballroom dancing?

The usual route is a beginners' group class where you learn posture, hold and a few basic figures before joining steps together. You can start solo or as a couple, and no previous experience is assumed.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

The waltz is a common first choice because its rise and fall teaches timing and balance that carry into other dances. Some teachers begin with a simpler social foxtrot or quickstep instead.

How hard is it to learn salsa?

Salsa's basic step is quick to grasp, though the timing takes a little practice to feel natural. Most people are moving confidently within a few sessions.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes, complete beginners take up salsa all the time. Classes start from the very first step, so no background in dance is needed.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

Common building blocks include the grapevine, the step-touch, the kick-ball-change, the pivot turn and the shuffle. These few moves reappear across many line dances.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

Short, repeating routines with only a handful of counts are the gentlest introduction. A teacher will usually start you on a simple dance built from a couple of basic steps.
