My eldest daughters have done one term at A Stars so far and absolutely love it. It’s been the best thing to bribe them with for good behaviour! Amy made them feel welcome and they’re making friends with children from other schools. It’s boosted their confidence so much. My youngest has just started and she has been excited for months to join! Can’t rate Amy and Sophia highly enough. It’s a brilliant extra curricular activity that promotes fitness, fun, self confidence and friendship!— Laura Emm

I have been going to a stars from the very beginning and it has changed me so much as a person and a dancer! Not only is dance a great way to exercise, it is also a great way to make friends. It is like a big family!!! I look forward to dance every week and would reccomend it to anyone (even if you have two left feet-anyone can dance with the help of Amy and Soph!)xx— Ella Petherick

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes. Many children's and performance styles are danced solo or in groups, so no partner is needed.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

Comfortable clothing that allows free movement and suitable footwear are all that is needed. Ask the school if a specific shoe type is recommended.

How much does a dance class usually cost?

Fees depend on the class, its length and whether you pay per session or per term. Contact the school directly for current rates.

Which dance is best for beginners?

A style with clear, repeating steps is a good place to start. For children, a fun group class often works well as an introduction.

What is the best dance to start as an adult?

Adults often begin with a sociable style that is enjoyable and does not demand advanced flexibility. This school, however, focuses mainly on children.

Is dancing good for heart failure?

Gentle activity suits many people, but anyone with a heart condition should consult their doctor before taking up a new form of exercise.
