Candy & Chrome is a pole dance and fitness studio serving Chester and Wrexham, and it inspires unusually loyal feedback from its regulars. Reviewers describe it as more of a family than a company, praising the inviting atmosphere and the quality of the instructors over many years. One long-standing member recalls a well-equipped, air-conditioned room with mirrors and spot lighting, and a laid-back, no-pressure vibe. It is a specialist in pole and fitness rather than partner or ballroom dance, and its warmth is clearly a big part of the draw.
This studio focuses on pole dance and fitness, combining strength, flexibility and confidence-building in a supportive setting. Reviews highlight experienced instructors and a relaxed environment where people can come along and let loose without feeling judged. Several members mention training there for years, and at least one went on to become an instructor themselves, which speaks to the encouraging culture.
The core offering is pole dance and fitness rather than the ballroom, ballet or salsa styles some may be searching for, so it is worth setting expectations accordingly. Classes are described as laid-back and low-pressure, welcoming people to build skills a couple of times a week at their own pace. The well-equipped, air-conditioned space with mirrors and gym mats supports steady progress in strength and technique. It suits anyone drawn to pole as a fitness pursuit and a confidence booster rather than traditional dance styles.
Wear fitted sportswear that leaves the skin free at the arms and legs, since grip on the pole matters, and bring water. The atmosphere is described as no-pressure, so there is no need to arrive with any strength or experience. Going along ready to try and enjoy yourself is all that is needed.
Straddling Chester and Wrexham, the studio draws a community from both sides of the border who value its friendly, close-knit feel.
This company deserves so much more than five stars as it's more than a company. It's a family and so inviting that I fell in love from the moment I walked into the room. I've learnt from multiple instructors over the years I've been going here and every single one are amazing. They understand how to motivate and encourage everyone to no one is left out. I've learnt so much more than pole dancing here, I've gained self esteem and more confidence than I've ever had in my life. I've gone from not being able to walk out my door without changing five times as I didn't think I looked okay to running— Kelly Botha
I started training at C&C over 8 years ago. The school is inside a beautiful central hotel, within the gym area. Its a fully air-conditioned room with access to gym mats, full length mirrors and spot lighting creates the mood for a dance! It's a nice size and intimate room with freestanding 10 ft poles. The owner Amy and the wonderful instructors create an amazing and relaxing vibe ensuring that anyone who is initially nervous at starting is put at ease straight away! The instructors are friendly and approachable, well trained and PDC approved, fully first aid trained and insured so there is n— Sophie Smith
I trained originally at Candy about 4.5 years ago for about 2 years, and it was there I started my own journey to being a pole dance instructor!
Amy's pole classes have a great, laid back, no pressure vibe, where people can come along and let loose a couple of times a week learning some cool pole tricks, spins and moves. Candy mostly focuses on progressing you through your pole moves, building up your strength and fitness along the way, as you are challenged to achieve new tricks as you move through the course levels at your pace.
There isn't any intense competitive spirit, so you're free to j— Peach Lee Ray
Hen Party with Tiny (Amy) @ Candy and Chrome
Wowzers, what an awesome Hen Party, right from the word go me and my hens thoroughly enjoyed our pole dance experience, Amy is professional, down to earth and it was 100% the best decision I made for me and my party. Amy knows her stuff about the beauty of Chester, where to go for food after, where to go for drinks, the best nightlife to carry on our Hen Shinanigans… I have never had so much fun with a erect pole in all my life!!!!!
A massive thank you to Amy @ Candy & Chrome Pole Dance Studio in Chester for the amazing experience, 100% worth eve— Samantha Bertoni
