The best decision I ever made for my 5 year old was starting her with Theatre Dance Academy!
When my daughter started she was so shy and timid. Her first lesson really did not go well but Miss Sally was so patient with her and really did everything possible to make her feel safe and comfortable. We continued to go and by week 3 my daughter went into class with no problems and happily joined in. Fast forward 6 months and my child has completed 2 dance exams and is now practising to take part in her first ever dance show!
Her confidence has massively grown and she now looks forward to dance clas— Leanne Cullen
We absolutely can't recommend TDA highly enough to anyone interested in dance, fun and friendship! My daughter has grown in confidence so much since starting baby ballet with the wonderfully enthusiastic and talented Miss Annie, and now wishes she could attend every one of the amazing classes Miss Sally offers. There are so many opportunities given to the dancers, the joy it brings them is wonderful to see. My daughter especially loves having such fantastic role models in the older girls that also support with the classes, and has made such lovely friendships. I can't wait to beam with pride d— Nicola Fleming
My daughter's journey with Theatre Dance Academy began almost 10 years ago, on the very first day of Miss Sally's very first Baby Ballet class and we haven't looked back!
From those early days of good toes, naughty toes and sunshine arms, her journey, just like TDA’s has evolved and I am grateful that we have been here from the beginning.
Through Miss Sally's nurturing and devotion to her art, along with the expert guidance and tuition she has from all her teachers at TDA, she is becoming the best dancer she can be and in an array of disciplines such as ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre, ac— Sarah Davis
My little girl started off at Babyballet Oldham and then moved up to TDA. In the past 18 months she’s gained so many Acro skills and has entered numerous exams, which are optional. Miss Sally and Miss Ronnia know her really well and give her challenges to improve all the time. She’s only 5 years old but her confidence and dance/acro abilities are much more advanced.
I also like the fact that the dance studio does have windows so you can see what the children are up to. It’s lovely to see them enjoying their classes.— Natalie Madden
Begin with a beginners class or a short course covering one dance at a time. No partner or experience is required to start.
The waltz is a popular first dance because its rhythm is easy to feel. Mastering it makes the faster dances simpler to pick up.
Yes. Adult ballet starts from the basics and builds strength and flexibility gradually, at any age.
It is never too late. Ballet can be taken up in adulthood for fitness and poise, at a pace that suits you.
Frequently used steps include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle. Routines combine these repeated moves.
A short four-wall dance with a repeating pattern is the easiest place to begin. Teachers pick one that gives early wins.
