My son has been going to Jason Thomas dance school for 4 years now and enjoys every second he is there ! It’s like being part of a family, the support the pupils show each other is second to none and the teachers are absolutely fantastic and so encouraging. The opportunity’s my son has had since being here are great and he keeps going from strength to strength. Through the teaching and support he has had from being here he has been accepted into Tring Park dance school at the ago of 10. I couldn’t be happier with the dance school the best decision I ever made was to send him to Jason’s Thomas — Joy Amner
Excellent teachers, extensive opportunities to either enjoy as a hobby or to go on and build a career. Great range of dance classes. My daughter joined just over two years ago, in that time she has grown in confidence, her dancing has improved immensely and has loved every minute of being part of this fabulous dance school. The people and children are very welcoming and makes you feel that your part of a family. I cannot recommend this Performing Arts school highly enough, anybody who enjoys the performing arts in all its forms should definitely give this place a go.— Deborah Woolley
I could not have asked for better training, without the guidance of Jason and his team of wonderful teachers I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Fantastic place to learn to dance. From beginner to advanced, young to young at heart. A class for everyone. Amazing performance opportunities and excellent exam results. The best all round dance training to be had.— Clare Hunt
Most people begin with a beginners' class covering posture, frame and a simple dance such as the waltz. You then add steps and further dances gradually as your confidence builds.
The waltz is a frequent starting point because its steady rhythm helps you master posture and rise and fall. Some teachers instead begin with a social foxtrot, but a slow dance eases you in.
Common building blocks include the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle. These are arranged in different orders to make up full routines.
A short four-wall dance with a handful of repeated steps is the gentlest start. Instructors usually choose one that can be picked up in a single session.
Yes, many styles are danced solo, and line dancing is done in a group without partners. Partner dances can still be learnt alone, as classes commonly rotate dancers.
Comfortable, flexible clothing and supportive shoes are ideal. Avoid stiff jeans and footwear that sticks to the floor and makes turning difficult.
