What Dancers Say About Heatherlea Dance Ltd

5/5 from 14 Google reviews.

My daughter has loved Heatherlea since her days in Mini movers and she's now in year 2. Her dancing continues to improve and she especially loves tap. Jo and Jade make a lovely team and my daughter is very happy to have them as her teachers. She's took part in a few shows now and enjoys the exciting atmosphere, plus we love watching her in such a big performance. We also think that there's the right amount of focus on passing exams too. The communication from HDL is always clear and Jo is easy to contact. We'd definitely recommend Heatherlea if someone is looking for a friendly dance school ✨✨— Claire Burgess

All three of my children have been going to Heatherlea since an early age (two girls and a boy) starting in mini movers. The all absolutely love the sessions and have grown great friendships in their classes giving them strong friendships out of their school groups which I feel is very valuable to children. The children look forward to the shows each year and we do too as it’s always a guaranteed amazing performance. Both Joanne and Jade are fabulous teachers who both get to know the children so well and the children have grown great relationships with them both. Would recommend Heatherlea to — Rosie Spriggs

As a former student myself and now having my own daughter attend classes since being 18 months old, I can honestly say that being a part of Heatherlea is like joining one huge family. It really is the bedrock of our local community. The lessons are fun and engaging and Jo and Jade share not only their passion for dancing and all the joys it can bring; but instil discipline and develop many skills beyond the dance curriculum: confidence and resilience to name but a few. Student and parents feel a sense of belonging and are proud to be part of HDL! The opportunities to perform on huge stages and— Mrs Patterson

My daughter has been dancing with HLD since she was 3 years old she loved it then and still loves it now, and she's 10! The dance shows they put on are fantastic and have given my daughter massive confidence . I
Would definitely recommend this dance school if you would like your daughter or son to grow as a person and shine with confidence.— Vicky Goodrum

Frequently Asked Questions

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

The grapevine, shuffle, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and heel dig are frequent building blocks. Beginner routines usually repeat a small set of these.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

A short four-wall dance with a repeating sequence is the gentlest way in. Teachers break the counts down so it is easy to follow.

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes, plenty of dance styles need no partner at all and are danced solo or in a group. You can happily join on your own.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

Comfortable, flexible clothing and suitable footwear are the main things. Choose something that lets you move without restriction.

How much does a dance class usually cost?

Prices vary by school and class, and by whether you pay weekly or in blocks. The school can give you its current rates.

Which dance is best for beginners?

Styles with simple, repeating steps and a clear rhythm work well for beginners. Much depends on the age of the dancer and the music they enjoy.
