London Dance Academy — Dance Classes In London

Dance School London operates from a basement studio in Clerkenwell and has built a strong following, reflected in a 4.7 rating from well over a hundred reviews. Much of the praise centres on its stretching, flexibility and splits work, alongside pole and dance-based fitness sessions. Reviewers highlight teachers who keep classes varied and supportive, both in person and online. It appeals to dancers and movers keen to improve their conditioning as much as their choreography.

What Dancers Say About London Dance Academy

4.7/5 from 129 Google reviews.

I'd first visited the Dance Studio several years ago for a group pole dancing experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
So when I noticed my joints were feeling quite tight recently, I looked them up again and found the online courses for flexibility and stretching.
They are easy to follow and give you time to move in and out of position.
I've found I'm really enjoying them, and am considering the splits fot beginners classes.
I would highly recommend the Dance Studio, they have so many classes to offer especially for those that are looking for something fun, and a bit different to your usual f— Karen

Started the virtual classes in August 2021. I wanted to start stretching classes to compliment dance training I do elsewhere. The teachers I've come across so far have all been great but the most noteworthy is Katarina. Her stretching classes are always different, never repetitive. She offers a great mix of passive and active flexibility challenges and is inspiring to work with, offering corrections and options for every move. I've attended so many classes around London in yoga, flexibility, pilates, etc and Katarina is one of the best teachers I've come across.

Me and my husband found the lesson specially bonding. We learned not only how to stretch, but how to breath, and release pain together. It is ideal for those who have over-stretch, continuously workout, or want a more gentile approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Salsa relies on timing and partner coordination, so it takes a little practice, but the basic step is simple. Most people find the rhythm becomes natural after a few sessions.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes, complete beginners learn salsa all the time. Good teaching starts with the fundamentals, so no prior dancing is needed.

Is it possible to learn ballet as an adult?

Yes. Adult ballet focuses on posture, strength and flexibility, and this studio's emphasis on stretching and conditioning complements that work well.

What age is too late to start ballet?

It is never too late to begin. Adults take up ballet at any age and progress at a pace that suits their body.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

The grapevine, shuffle, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and heel dig are common foundations. Beginner routines usually string a few of these together.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

A short four-wall dance with a repeating sequence is the simplest to pick up. Instructors break the counts down so newcomers can follow easily.
