Elevate Arts is a fantastic dance school and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
My eldest daughter started her dance journey 6 years ago as a quiet child with very little confidence. Now, aged 11, she regularly takes part in outdoor performances with Elevate and recently competed at her 1st street dance competition!

Elevate Arts has been the foundation of my daughters dance career and has continued to be the platform that supports her in each step that she has taken towards her success in the last 5 years. When she first started at Elevate she was just 4 years old although she had clear signs of being a talented little dancer, the environment and guidance provided to her at these classes really reached into her full potential and tapped into a confidence that we didn’t know she had.
Since then, Lucy (the dance teacher) has brought her along to dance competitions and even put her forward for auditions whic— Hayley Anglim

My 5 year old daughter has just started this year and she has enjoyed the classes incredibly. Having the confidence to present herself in front of people is something she has struggled with since the pandemic, especially in school but since starting this dance class she has gained a confidence where her self esteem has hugely boosted. The classes help her focus and follow dance steps which is improving her ability to pay attention and confidence which we have started to notice at home. Lucy, the dance teacher, and other dance staffs are really supportive towards the children and there are many— Felicia Asare

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is it to learn salsa?

Salsa has a simple underlying rhythm, so most people manage the basic step within a session or two. The challenge comes later, in leading, following and staying in time, which develops gradually with regular practice.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes. Salsa is one of the more approachable partner dances and beginner classes assume no prior experience. Progress comes from turning up regularly rather than from any natural gift.

Is it possible to learn ballet as an adult?

Adults can absolutely take up ballet, and dedicated adult beginner classes exist for exactly this reason. You may not follow the same path as a child training for a career, but you can gain real technique, posture and strength.

What age is too late to start ballet?

There is no upper age limit for enjoying ballet as a hobby. Older starters simply focus on control, flexibility and musicality rather than the demands of professional training.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

Common building blocks include the grapevine, the step touch, the kick ball change, the pivot turn and the shuffle. Most line dances are simply these familiar moves arranged in sequences and repeated in different directions.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

Straightforward routines built on a basic grapevine and step touch are the usual starting point, as they repeat the same short pattern on each wall. Once that sequence feels comfortable, more elaborate dances become much easier to pick up.
