Yes, plenty of dance styles are learnt solo, and many classes rotate partners or need none at all. You can make real progress on your own before ever pairing up.
Comfortable clothing you can move freely in and shoes that let you turn smoothly are ideal to begin. The centre can advise on any specific footwear once you know which class you are joining.
Prices vary with the style, length and whether it is a group or private session, so costs differ from place to place. It is best to contact the centre directly for current rates.
That depends on what you enjoy, though sociable styles with a clear rhythm tend to be the easiest to start with. The centre can help you match a style to your goals.
Many adults enjoy beginning with a rhythmic, sociable style that is easy to pick up and fun from the first session. The right choice comes down to your interests and what you want from it.
Dancing can be a gentle, enjoyable form of activity, but anyone with a heart condition should speak to their doctor before starting. A medical professional can advise on what level of exercise is safe for you.
