About Zest Dance Workshops

Schools describe the workshops as fun, engaging and delivered with real subject knowledge. The leader is praised as a pleasure to work with, going above and beyond to tailor sessions to a school's topic or theme. It is clearly a service built around enthusiasm and strong, well-planned delivery.

Classes & Dance Styles

Rather than a fixed weekly timetable, Zest provides bespoke workshops shaped around a chosen theme, whether that is a geography day, an around-the-world topic or a burst of high-energy fitness. Sessions have covered Zumba, street dance, Bollywood, Scottish, Chinese and African dances, often woven into cultural or historical learning. A typical workshop mixes warm-up games with accessible choreography that a whole group can pick up together. Everything is pitched so that participants of varying abilities can join in and enjoy it.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Participants simply need comfortable clothing they can move in and flat, supportive footwear such as trainers. Because sessions are group-based and follow-along, no experience or partner is required. Turn up ready to warm up, learn a routine and have fun.

Location & Contact

As a workshop provider, Zest brings its sessions to schools and venues rather than running from a single fixed studio.

What Dancers Say About Zest Dance Workshops

5/5 from 32 Google reviews.

Zest Dance have provided really engaging and enjoyable dance workshops for our secondary school activities days for 2 years now (Zumba, Street Dance and Bollywood dancing) and we would highly recommend them! Olivia is a real pleasure to work with, not just delivering above and beyond in engaging the students, but her professionalism in being there on time, on message and working with us in every sense.

We received some really glowing feedback this year from all groups that Olivia worked with! They really enjoyed themselves, commenting that the workshops were really enjoyable, hands-on and cha— Mark Gritten

Olivia provides fun and engaging dance workshops on a range of historical, geographical and cultural themes; with strong subject knowledge and excellent delivery.

She supported our school in our recent Geography Day celebration; teaching children a range of dances from around the world. She also gave some cultural background and interesting stories about the dances and her own experiences of them. She even bought in props and costumes to really engage the children; who said they felt "real like Bollywood stars" when performing!

It was a fantastic day; enhanced by Olivia's enthusiasm. Chil— Cara Murphy

We had Olivia come in to our school last term and do four workshops over the course of four weeks in keeping with our 'Around the World' topic. We did dances in Bollywood, Scottish, Chinese and African. The workshops were brilliant for the children. they consisted of warm up games and stretching whilst often getting used to the music. Following this, the dances were broken down into sections and repeated until the children understood. Once complete, the sections were put together. The children really engaged with Olivia and Amber and absolutely loved the fact that they all got a piece of cost— Miss Cashin

I signed up for the outdoor dance classes with Olivia of Zest Dance Workshops, after having never done a dance class before in my life. I really enjoyed the sessions and would recommend them to anyone interested in dance, fitness, or even just a good time. The classes include a warmup, a routine practiced in stages, and a cool down. The routines are challenging but fun, and everyone is super friendly and supportive. If you’re thinking about dance, and you’re a beginner like me, I’d say this is a great place to start. Five stars!— Deniz Ates

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes, these workshops are group-based and follow-along, so no partner is ever needed. Everyone learns the same routine together as a class. It is an easy, pressure-free way to dance.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

Comfortable clothing you can move freely in, along with trainers or flat shoes, is all that is needed for a workshop. Bring water, especially for the more energetic sessions. There is no formal dress code.

How much does a dance class usually cost?

As workshops are tailored to each school or group, pricing depends on the length, style and number of sessions. It is best to contact Zest directly for a quote that fits what you have in mind.

Which dance is best for beginners?

For groups, accessible styles like Zumba, street dance or Bollywood work well because they are energetic, fun and easy to follow along with. The right choice often depends on the theme or occasion. Zest can suggest a style to match your event.

What is the best dance to start as an adult?

Fun, follow-along styles such as Zumba or Bollywood are great for adults because progress feels quick and the emphasis is on enjoyment. They build fitness and coordination without demanding any experience. A workshop is a relaxed way to sample a style.

Is dancing good for heart failure?

Gentle, moderate dancing can be a positive activity for many people, but anyone with a heart condition should consult their doctor first. If cleared, let the workshop leader know so intensity can be kept comfortable. Always work within your own limits.
