I absolutely loved the dancemums classes! Svetlana is a wonderful and caring teacher, genuinely interested in the mums in the class and how they are doing. She also knew lots about postpartum bodies and I had been nervous to do exercise since giving birth because of my abdominal separation but Svetlana checked me over at the first class and then would let me know when I shouldn't do one of the exercises (which was not often) and gave me an alternative. She also sent me info and stretches for diastasis. I highly reccommend. It's lots of fun and a welcoming community. There is also a safe and co— Jess Wilson
Throughout my maternity leave, Dance Class has been the highlight of each week. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. No matter how I’m feeling or what challenges motherhood is presenting me,I know Dance Mums will meet me where I’m currently at and I will always be able to take what I need from the class (whether that’s a need to feel energised, or to stretch out, or just to vent my frustrations!)
Svetlana is so encouraging, enthusiastic and responsive to your needs. She’s also very knowledgeable about dance and it’s been very fun to learn about dances around the world.

There aren't enough stars for my review! Myself and my son (~8months old when we started) did two terms of dance mums and absolutely LOVED it. It was a sociable, fun, relaxed environment and the perfect mix of exercise, relaxation and fun bonding time. I always recommend this class to new mums, it was a definite highlight of our week during maternity leave and we met some lovely new friends along the way. I was so sad when I had to go back to work and wasn't able to move onto Svetlana's toddler dance classes, but my son still loves to dance with me now any chance we get at home or out and abou— Ali O
Since I started this class, when my little one was just 7 weeks, I have enjoyed every minute of it and have returned for 3 terms!
Svetlana is really welcoming, down to earth and completely puts you at ease.
The classes are fun and include a great workout too. Each term, there is a different dance style, which keeps things interesting and provides new challenges.
It's not just a fitness class as it incorporates a short meditation and reflection at the end, polished off with a nice cuppa, biscuits and chats with other mums, so there's a really lovely social aspect too.
I look forward to this cla— Nadia Tomblin
You begin with a beginners' class where a teacher introduces the hold and a few simple steps, building up gradually. No prior experience is needed to start.
The waltz is a common first dance thanks to its steady rhythm. A teacher can point you towards the best one for your confidence.
Salsa is very learnable once the basic timing clicks, and beginners' classes ease you in. Steps are introduced a few at a time.
Yes, salsa welcomes complete beginners and is taught from scratch. No dance background is needed.
The grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, a turn and the shuffle are among the most common. They recur across routines, making new dances easier to pick up.
A short, repeating four-wall dance is the gentlest starting point. An instructor will begin with something simple.
