Elite Performing Arts is a dance school in Bromsgrove led by principal Stephanie, teaching ballet, tap, lyrical and contemporary largely to children and young people. It is a good fit for families wanting a nurturing school where a child can develop technique and confidence. Annual shows give pupils regular performance opportunities.
Parents describe a family feel and a principal who is kind, gentle and encouraging with every student. Children are said to grow noticeably in confidence, with some progressing through graded ballet and even moving on to specialist ballet schools, and the annual shows draw particular praise.
Classes span ballet, tap and lyrical or contemporary, with graded ballet giving committed pupils a clear pathway and the chance to work towards examinations. Among the dance classes in Bromsgrove, the teaching balances technical development with plenty of opportunities to perform and grow. If you are also asking about adult dance classes, dance lessons or line dancing in Bromsgrove, it is worth checking directly what may be on offer beyond the children's programme.
A newcomer can expect a warm, family-like welcome and a class matched to the child's age and stage. Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing and suitable soft shoes are a sensible start, and the school can advise on specifics once you enquire.
The school is based in Bromsgrove and reachable via the usual local roads and transport; check access and parking when you get in touch.
From the minute we started at Elite, it had the feeling of “family”. Its principal, Stephanie, is kind, friendly, gentle and nurturing with all of her students, giving them a variety of opportunities to grow and develop their dance technique, while at the same time being an extremely talented and evidently passionate dancer and choreographer in her own right.
The Elite team fosters a fun and creative learning environment for its younger dancers, offering the opportunity for students to progress through the school at their own individual pace. Stephanie seems highly perceptive and considerate o— Ciara Bird
My child danced at Elite for 2.5 years. During that time he went from grade 2 ballet to grade 5 ballet (passed with distinction), performed in a number of shows (including Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker for 2 seasons). He only left to go to Elmhurst Ballet School as a full time pupil at the age of 11. Elite has so many amazing dancers of all ages who have achieved so many amazing things. Please look at the amount of children there who are Elmhurst and Royal Ballet associates, sixth form students doing A’level dance. Steph nurtures every child regardless. My daughter joined Elite dance when she was 4 years old, she has loved it ever since, joining more & more classes along the way. She absolutely adores Stephanie & has always looked up to her. As a parent I have found Elite & Stephanie nothing but professional & caring to each individual dancer, she has encouraged my daughter and helped her grow in confidence, not just in dance but in every day life. We are proud to be part of the Elite family 💕💕— Wendi Patterson
Line dancing commonly uses the grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle, though this school's focus is ballet, tap and contemporary.
Beginner line dances usually repeat grapevines and step-touches; ask the school whether any adult or line dancing sessions are available.
Yes. Ballet, tap and contemporary are all danced solo, so no partner is needed.
Comfortable clothing that allows free movement and appropriate soft shoes are ideal; the school can advise on any uniform once your child joins.
Fees vary by class and age group, so it is best to contact the school directly for current pricing.
For young starters, ballet builds a strong foundation in posture and coordination, while tap is popular for its rhythm and fun.
