I cannot praise Miss Chloe May and the teachers enough! The patience they have is amazing, especially with my runaround! The drive and passion they have is fabulous. They truly care and want to see your child succeed! The dances are fun and there are multiple opportunities throughout the year to showcase these for families and the public. They hold IDTA dance exams as your child gets older and it helps them progress, with an awards evening to celebrate! I have been so impressed from day one! Huge thank yous go to Chloe and her team for keeping morale high and dances fun and challenging! My dau— Holly Tillott
My daughter has attended Chloe Mays dance academy since it first opened and absolutely loves it. The dances are so much fun, especially with the use of little props and being able to dress up for special occasions.
The show production was super well organised and it was wonderful to see them all doing their routines. The Melody Bear dance charts are a great idea, a sticker every week to put on and reward badges to work towards.
Chloe does an amazing job at keeping parents / guardians up to date and has continued to do so through such a difficult 12 months due to COVID.Have nothing but high — Anna Calvert
My nearly four year old daughter has been attending the Kidderminster Sunday ballay class here now for about 8 sessions. She is loving the stories that they dance around the studio too. Miss Neeve always has a smile on her face and Maz is so down to earth and so comforting when they are unsure/nervous or just not feeling it. My daughters favourite song is good toes, naughty toes. At the end of the session children collect their stickers and add them to their charts to work towards their medals which is great motivation. Thanks ladies 🙂— Kim Fuente
My daughter absolutely loves going to Chloe Mays dance academy. She is really shy and clingy so I didn’t think she would would enjoy it. I was wrong! the dance teachers are great and patient and they really helped her settle into the classes. They do bigger and smaller performances, which you are not obliged to take part in. my daughter has loved doing them and it has helped so much with her shyness and has brought her out of her shell.— Vicky
Begin with a beginners' class where the basics of hold, footwork and timing are introduced gradually. You need no partner or experience, and contacting the academy will point you to a suitable session.
The waltz suits many beginners because of its steady rhythm, and the social foxtrot is another gentle starting point. A teacher can suggest the best one for your class.
Yes, ballet can be taken up as an adult, with real gains in posture, strength and poise. It is worth asking the academy about the options available to adults.
There is no age that is too late for recreational ballet, since classes are adapted to the dancer's stage. Whether for fitness or for love of the art, it is always worth beginning.
The grapevine, step-touch, kick-ball-change, pivot turn and shuffle are among the core moves. Because they appear in so many routines, learning them makes new dances easier.
A short, repetitive dance with no complicated turns is the friendliest introduction. Teachers usually start beginners there so the sequence quickly becomes familiar.
