What Dancers Say About Wedding Dance Lessons London with Thomas Michael Voss

5/5 from 5 Google reviews.

Michael was such a great teacher and came up with a brilliant dance routine for us. He instantly understood our theme of musical theatre and took the time to talk to us about what we wanted to achieve.
We unfortunately didn't give him a lot of time (basically one lesson) due to our busy schedules but he was patient and kind and came up with a routine very quickly. Michael was very funny and easy to work with and made the lesson enjoyable.
Our wedding guests were really surprised with our choreographed dance and absolutely loved it! It was one of the highlights of an already amazing day. Thank — Kate Knight

We attended a group ballroom dancing class with Michael 5 weeks before our wedding as it was local to us and really liked his dance instruction even in a group setting. However, with a month to go until our big day and no prior dance experience we realised we'd need some private tuition to not make complete fools of ourselves and had a quick word with Michael after the lesson to see if he'd be willing to take us on despite he'd seen we both had two left feet and were short of time. At this stage we really just planned to get him to show us how to dance cheek to cheek without stepping on each— Bex K

My husband and I absolutely LOVED our dance lessons with Michael! We thought it would be really fun and special to learn a dance for our wedding and Michael made each lesson exactly that. He was kind, and patient and an absolutely outstanding teacher. I have since recommended him to every single engaged couple I have met. Couldn't recommend him highly enough! Wish we could do it all again,— Susan Wilkins

Michael taught us the most fun and beautiful wedding dance! It made the song we had chosen for our first dance come alive and was one of the true highlights of our wedding. The practice sessions were also fantastic, he was patient and made the steps feel easy to learn, we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you so much!!! Lizzie and Adam— Elizabeth Shakinovsky

How do you start ballroom dancing?

A beginners lesson introducing posture, frame and a simple step in one style is the easiest way in. From there you build a foundation to carry across other ballroom dances.

What ballroom dance to learn first?

The waltz or a social foxtrot are common first choices, as their steady rhythms make the basics easier to feel. A teacher can suggest a starting dance to suit you.

What is the best Latin dance for beginners?

Cha-cha and rumba are approachable starting points thanks to clear rhythms and manageable steps. Trying a lesson in each helps you find your favourite.

Is Latin dance good for beginners?

Yes, Latin styles are lively and built on repeatable basics that beginners pick up steadily. They also make for an enjoyable way to keep active.

How long before a wedding should you take dance lessons?

Starting a couple of months ahead allows comfortable time to learn and rehearse, though shorter routines can be prepared in less. Contact the instructor to plan around your date.

How many dances do couples do at a wedding?

Most couples prepare one first dance, while some add a further number. The choice is yours and can be discussed when booking.
