Wedding Dance Space — Dance Classes In London

Wedding Dance Space is a specialist studio in the Fordwych Road area of north-west London, focused on helping couples prepare their first dance. Its clients are typically engaged pairs, many of them complete beginners, who want to feel confident on the day. Ksenia, who teaches here, is a competitive dancer, so the coaching pairs polished technique with a friendly, unhurried approach. It is a good choice for anyone daunted by the idea of dancing in front of guests.

About Wedding Dance Space

Couples repeatedly mention arriving with little coordination and leaving with a routine they are genuinely proud of. The atmosphere is described as encouraging and adaptable, with choreography tailored to the couple's chosen music, even across multiple songs. It suits people who want a bespoke, one-to-one experience rather than a fixed syllabus.

Classes & Dance Styles

Sessions centre on choreographing and rehearsing a first dance, whether that means a single-song routine or a more ambitious medley. Teaching breaks each sequence into manageable steps, layering in styling and confidence as the weeks go by. Although the emphasis is on wedding preparation, the underlying skills overlap with broader dance lessons London and adult dance classes London. Package options let couples build up the practice time they need before the big day.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

An introductory lesson is a common way to begin, giving you a feel for the teaching before committing further. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes that let you turn smoothly on a wooden floor. Bringing a shortlist of possible songs helps shape the choreography early on.

What Dancers Say About Wedding Dance Space

5/5 from 31 Google reviews.

We engaged Ksenia to teach us our first dance, and would really recommend her regardless of your competency level (we were complete beginners!)

Ksenia is a professional who competes, so needless to say, she has really good technique and was able to share both theory and tips to make our moves look nicer.

She was able to customise the choreography along the way to suit us, such that it was easy to follow but also with the objective of looking good for the pics!

Finally, Ksenia is just a really nice person, and always tried her best to accommodate our schedules. It was a pleasure to learn fro— Jocelyn Ho

Ksenia created beautiful choreography for our wedding first dance and was able to teach us every step in just a few weeks before the big day. We wanted to do a four song medley for our first dance with very different styles for each song. Ksenia was able to adapt the dance moves for every song based on our requests and went outside of her normal dance expertise to learn a new style just so she could teach us. She even noticed a few times that certain parts of the dance were not as good as we would have liked and proactively offered new choreography to replace it. As a result, the first dance e— Kevin Luo

When we first embarked on our dance lesson adventure, my now husband and I had almost no coordination and no experience with dance. We took an introductory lesson before our wedding and when Ksenia said there was hope for us we purchased the 20-class package. It was totally worth it.

Ksenia is an incredible instructor. She's funny, patient and so generous with her feedback. The space was the perfect size to emulate the dance floor.

We went from marching band geeks to suave ballroom dancers. She helped us create a dance that embodied what we wanted to feel at the wedding–us having fun and loo— Ox Khan

Ksenia is an excellent teacher. Hardworking, methodical and serious in her approach, she places importance on good technique and is pedagogical in her teaching. She is committed and she combines this with a positive attitude and a sweet personality.

She reinforces in a positive way each incremental step learned as progress to achieve the target: successful dancing combined with enjoyment.

Benchmarking her against several other teachers, she stands out by maintaining her continued enthusiasm for dancing per se and for enabling complete beginners learning how to dance with confidence.— Joachim Wrang-Widen

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is it to learn salsa?

The basic salsa step is straightforward and quick to grasp, resting on a simple pattern of weight changes. Developing flow and timing takes practice, but social-level dancing is within reach after a handful of lessons.

Can a non-dancer learn salsa?

Yes, complete non-dancers learn salsa all the time. The basics of rhythm and partnering are taught from scratch, so no previous experience is needed.

Is it possible to learn ballet as an adult?

It certainly is, as adults can develop the posture, strength and coordination ballet asks for with regular classes. This studio specialises in wedding and partner dancing, so ballet would be pursued elsewhere.

What age is too late to start ballet?

No age is too late to enjoy ballet for its own sake. The discipline offers benefits to the body and mind whenever you choose to begin.

What are 5 basic steps in line dancing?

Typical basics are the grapevine, the shuffle, the pivot turn, the kick-ball-change and the heel dig. These combine to form the routines you see on the floor.

What is the easiest line dance to learn for beginners?

Short four-wall dances with a repeating sequence are the gentlest introduction. For what is on offer here, it is best to ask the studio directly about the styles they teach.
