What Dancers Say About Mini Professionals Dance Academy

5/5 from 120 Google reviews.

Absolutely fantastic dance studio for adult dance classes. I alternate between four different classes taught by April and Millie, and thoroughly enjoy them all! April and Millie are both brilliant teachers – patient, fun and not judgemental or patronising with beginners like me. Sophie from admin support and Alice on reception are also consistently helpful and lovely. Having grown up in a dance studio (different dance style), I also really look for and notice the atmosphere in the studio between the kids and teachers, just in the passing interactions I witness – and I've been struck by how it — Hanna Smyth

My 7 year old daughter and I have been attending classes at MPDA since February 2023. What I love the most is that we have found adult and children classes that happen at the same time!
My daughter loves her mids acro lessons with Mr Sjef on a Sunday morning. It is always a wonderful feeling to see children thriving and finding joy in something they love and Mr Sjef is doing a fantastic job of teaching acro and creating a fun and supportive atmosphere. After her first lesson, my daughter came back buzzing as she had already learnt how to do a handstand.
As for the adult classes, Mr Reece's cla— Diana Bonifaci

My daughter has been going to MDPA for around four years now. She absolutely adores dance and loves her dance classes and dance camps. The enthusiasm, kindness, positivity of the teachers has surpassed any other dance school we have tried. I love how they love and support all the children through their dance journey – whether it be just for fun and fitness, or a something they’d like to pursue as they grow older. Every teacher has a special sparkle about them. We just love MDPA. I’ve also recently started adult dance fitness classes with April and I can say I’ve now personally experienced bei— Caroline Thompson

It doesn’t matter what level your daughter or son is at, what matters is that they dance! Bethany and her team of dance teachers inspire the children with confidence to learn dance at their own pace. There’s certainly no pressure but plenty of encouragement with kind, professional, highly talented teachers who will ensure your child reaches their full potential in the styles of dance— Jane Sibley

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you learn to dance without a partner?

Yes, a great deal of dance is learned solo, and partner styles are often taught with rotation so you need not bring anyone. Coming along on your own is completely normal here.

What should I wear to a beginner dance class?

Comfortable clothing that allows free movement and appropriate soft footwear for the style are all you need. The academy can advise on any specific shoes once you know which class you are joining.

How much does a dance class usually cost?

Fees vary by class type, length and whether you pay per session or by term, so prices differ from place to place. It is best to ask the academy directly for its current rates.

Which dance is best for beginners?

Styles with clear, repeatable steps such as ballet basics, tap or a beginner group dance tend to suit newcomers well. The right choice depends on what you enjoy, and the academy can point you to a suitable starter class.

What is the best dance to start as an adult?

Many adults begin with a low-pressure beginner class in a style they find appealing, whether that is a technique-based form or something more social. The academy's adult classes are designed to make that first step easy.

Is dancing good for heart failure?

Gentle dancing can be part of an active lifestyle, but anyone with a heart condition should speak to their doctor before starting. Once cleared, let the teacher know so the class can be adapted appropriately.
