My Salsa learning experience started at Salsa Souls around 9 months ago and I have been attending classes and parties there on a weekly basis.
The Beginners class is a great way to learn the basics. Stellan is committed to ensuring everyone he teaches reaches a high standard so that they can progress to more challenging classes. It is also a great way to meet new friends, as there is new people joining it every week.
The Improver/Intermediate class on Wednesdays tends to be very focused on technical skills. You spend 8 weeks or so of a course working through the mechanics of certain moves, b— Tom W
I started going to Salsa Souls about 7 months ago and I love it! I had no dance experience when I started and didn't really know what to expect! But the beginner classes give you a nice gentle introduction to Salsa, teaching the basics and the technique and really help you get to grips with the dance! I have now moved up to the improvers class and there is a big jump in difficulty, but the teachers always bear in mind the experience of everyone in the class and make sure everyone understands the steps before moving on. There is a real focus on technique which is brilliant.

I have been coming to Salsa Souls for nearly 1 year and for me it is an amazing place to learn Latin dancing ! The best in Bristol- no doubt!
Stellan and Mo are really welcoming so no one feels embarrassed while being a beginner. Always very attentive and observant, picking up on small details when you make mistakes to help you improve. The standard of teaching is very high! Also I have met so many nice people and made new friends. The place has a really brilliant positive vibe so every time you leave, you leave full of energy. Stellan's humour also adds loads of additional fun 🙂

First I went to Salsa Souls in march this year and I have to admit that since then it has become my biggest addiction. Whenever I am in Bristol I visit Salsa Souls and I always have so much fun! Teachers are real professionals who always adjust the level of classes to the level of participants. Even beginners, who have never had contact with salsa before, can dance after a few lessons and improvers make a very quick progress. I sincerely recommend Sala Souls to all of those who want to learn how to dance or just improve their skills. We always have great fun, great music and just fantastic peo— Ewelina ES
The basic step is quick to grasp, so most people dance something recognisable in their first class. Fluency takes longer, but the fast early progress keeps it enjoyable.
Yes, most salsa students begin with no dance experience whatsoever. Beginner classes assume nothing and build up slowly.
Salsa and bachata are the usual first choices, both resting on simple foundations. Bachata is often felt to be a touch gentler to begin with.
It is one of the more approachable ways to start, since the basics are simple and mistakes are easily forgiven. Classes are generally aimed at newcomers.
A couple of months usually gives a relaxed, comfortable learn. For something more ambitious, begin earlier and ask the teacher what they suggest.
Most couples prepare a single first dance, with some adding a livelier second number later. It depends on how much dancing you want on the day.
